Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

KaiPCB is an AI-assisted PCB design tool operated by NotchBio. Our agent, “Kai”, helps you turn requirements into real KiCad design files — schematics, routed PCBs, 3D models, BOMs, and fabrication packages — and lets you analyse, review, and edit KiCad files in your browser. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers (including Google sign-in if you use it).
• Design content: the chat messages, prompts, requirements, and any KiCad files or images you upload, plus the design artifacts Kai generates for you (schematics, PCBs, 3D models, Gerbers, BOMs).
• Billing data: your plan, usage counters, and subscription status. Card and payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.
• Operational data: basic logs needed to run the service securely (e.g. request timing and error diagnostics).

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to provide KaiPCB: to authenticate you, run the design and analysis workflow, generate and store your KiCad files, enforce plan limits, process payments, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your private design content to train our own models.

4. Third-party services we share data with

To operate, KaiPCB relies on a small set of trusted sub-processors. Your data is only shared with them to the extent needed to deliver the feature involved:

• Google (Gemini API) — your prompts, relevant chat context, and uploaded file/image content are sent to Google’s Gemini API to power Kai’s reasoning, planning, and generation.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — where applicable, prompts and design context may be sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for AI processing.
• Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account, chats, messages, and generated/uploaded files are stored here.
• Modal — runs the KiCad compute pipeline (placement, routing, ERC/DRC, fabrication output) on your design data during generation.
• Paddle — our payment processor and merchant of record for subscriptions; it handles checkout and stores payment details.
• Resend — sends transactional and support emails on our behalf.
• Railway — hosts the KaiPCB application.

AI providers (Google, Anthropic) process your content to return a response; we send them only what is needed for the request. We do not broadcast your data anywhere else.

5. Where your data is stored

Your account data, chats, messages, uploaded files, and generated design artifacts are stored in our Supabase project (database + object storage), protected by row-level security so each account can only access its own data. Transient design data is processed on Modal during a generation job and is not retained as a separate long-term copy beyond the artifacts saved to your project.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data only while you have a use for it:

• Deleting a chat permanently removes that project’s chat messages, uploaded files, generated KiCad files, artifacts, and design versions from our database and storage.
• Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and all of your projects, chats, files, and generated outputs from our database and storage.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Note that content already transmitted to an AI provider (Google or Anthropic) for processing is subject to that provider’s own retention policies, which we do not control.

7. How we protect your data

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your stored data is restricted by authentication and row-level security so only you (and our service operating on your behalf) can reach it. Provider/service secrets are never exposed to the browser. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

8. Your rights

You can access and update your profile in the app, export your generated files, and delete individual chats or your entire account at any time from Account settings. For any other data request, contact us via the Support tab in the app.

9. Children

KaiPCB is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product evolves; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Questions about privacy can be sent to NotchBio through the in-app Support tab.
